WTB Tonga Branching Live Rock

Hey, guys.

I’m looking to buy a few peices of Tonga Live Rock, specifically the branching kind. I’m looking to build a small pile around a clay flower pot with plenty of room for some BTA’s to attach themselves.

I understand that Tonga may no longer be available but any type of branching live rock or previously cured rock would do the trick.

Also looking for a heavily encrusted seed rock to get the coraline started.

Willing to buy or offer trades.

Thanks,
Jason

How " branchy" , and how much ya looking for Jason?
A pic of what your looking for would be best ( or might be a pia… ::rofl::), i may have some pieces here, or at my neighbors… I have a chunk here, but dont know if its that branchy. i ll take a pic

I have a small piece of coraline covered rock. It doesn’t seem to take too much to get it started. I like to scrape a bunch off, then grind it up, and throw it in the dt, and i keep the return pump off for a couple hours… well, the 3x i’ve done it works really well.

Well the idea is that I’m going to loosely cover a clay flowerpot in a 24 gallon aquacube. If I use big rocks, it’ll take up too much space, if I use rubble, it will be a death trap waiting to collapse. I’m thinking branching-style live rock will be my best bet to loosely cover the pot and make room for some BTAs.

I agree with your seeding technique. I want to find a small seed rock that has a ton of different colored, thick coraline on it. It will spread fast in a 24 gallon system if I scrape it every few days.

I have some nice purple, pinks i can give you. And how big is the pot? i’ll see if i can come up with enough branching kind, and get a pic… but its gonna be a nice camo-d flower pot, thats cool. the clowns really seem to love them flower pots. Do you keep most of your pairs w/ pot, i know the one pair has its frogspawn.

Flower pot is uh, standard size? haha Maybe 6"?

I’ve kept all my pairs with pots except for the pair that took to the frogspawn.

I can swing by tomorrow. Let me call you later anyway.

How branchy does it have to be? I’m a big fan of the totoka live rock and its what most of the rock in my tank is. I like it because my coral plugs pop right into it and stay without having to be glued. I got a lot of my rock from DPA because they have a lot of that kind of rock most of the time. A few weeks ago TFB had a big shipment of tonga rock in but its probably gone by now.

This is the totoka rock in my tank:

I don’t think this site is going to be useful for the amount you want but they have some nice stuff I was planning on ordering from them when I set up the 75g tank but I bought a used tank with a lot of rock so no need.
