WTB used led lighting system

Looking to buy a used led lighting system. AI super blues or ecotechs let me know if you have anything or know of someone selling. If no find comes about I will build my own setup but rather get one of these 2 brands.

I know someone has to be selling a good non chinese/ebay led unit somewhere… I almost had 3 xr30w this past week but they sold right before I got there to buy them.

In need of a unit very soon. I got home from vacation and at night time my tanks temp was at 84 and I have lost a couple fish and corals due to my tank sitter or tank cooking.

What’s your objection to the “Chinese” LED’s, I’ve had good luck with them. Although, I think it would be prudent to get one with either Bridgelux or Cree emitters. I got an AI Sol for Christmas and although it was a nice fixture, it didn’t give me the same spread or penetration as my original 120W LED’s, I would have needed twice as many to cover my tank. I think if you were to open one of the “premium” grade units, you’d find many of the components are made in China. ::thinking::

Your comment about the cree is dead on. Cree I think has the lowest tolerances 5% vs chinese leds even the Epistar multi chipswhich have a 15% tolerance on color spectrum. Which is very important when you buy something that is supposed to be 450-455nm and you get 510nm. or the 420nm some people are talking about them producing in the upper 300nm’s which is borderline for the bad uv.

I would love to make a unit but I am to busy atm with other things to find the time and patience to pick every little item out that I want and design it to my satisfaction then build it. So for now I want to stick with companies that are well know for quality and success. I had a chance to see the radion xr30w on a tank this past week and was really impressed but the cost is a bit of a kicker. AI Sols are cheaper now and the new ones come with 70 degree optics and seem to be doing very well. its kind of like $1500+(xr30w) vs $900(ai sol) New. to build it would cost $400-600 and a lot of labor.
Plus I will more then likely soon be adding a Neptune apex unit onto my tank to add some back up safety measures and ease of control ability and of course all the other good stuff these controllers can do (led dimming,mp40 control,ph,temp, ato, salinity, etc…

The problem is is that the companies that make LEDs aren’t known for quality and success. That’s the whole issue. It will take a lot of research. There are many out there that have bought fixtures and go back to what they had.
