addicted, the 55’s have tempered glass and can’t be drilled. that’s what i’m told. is this true? if it can, i am interested. never drilled a tank. have you?
rich, the 72 is great and right price, but it;'s just too tall. 25" is a hard thing for me to deal with. sorry

Will this be a display tank? I’ve been considering selling my 75g AGA megaflow tank.(not the one you saw at my house) It is already drilled for closed loop with bulk heads included. I’m pretty sure there are no scratches on the front glass however it is not currently filled with water currently, so it is a little difficult to see.

jon, it’s gonna be a tank that prolly only i will see. what are the dimensions? i don’t get closed loop, even tho ken tried to explain it. does it replace rr? advantages are? yes, i’d buy the tank if you can help make its setup make sense to me. and of course the price is sensible for both of us. i’m sure there are not major scratches on it, at least i hope not. have a skimmer, sump, and external bluetooth pump. sump is drilled. came from rich 71. i’m ready to do it and finally get a basement tank set up!!

Basically a closed loop is a pump which pulls water out of the tank and puts it right back in. Since it is a closed system it isn’t fighting your normal head pressure and doesn’t splash around in the over flow box and sump. It is an energy efficient way to move a lot of water and if properly designed may be eaiser to hide then bulky power heads placed in the aquarium.

Often times closed loops use SCWD= Switching Current Water Device or Director. This will take the water and direct it down different pipes periodically so you get surges in different areas. This creates a similar effect to a wave maker used with power heads which turns off or slows the current on different power heads.

A great pump for closed loop is being sold by Chris and Barb in the market place currently.

The tank I have is a standard 48" 75g AGA Megaflow aquarium, so the closed loop is in addition to the overflow(megaflow).

thanks, jon. pm’d u.

rich… i will take the 72 if paul doesnt want it on 2 conditions…
i gotta pull a quick sale on one of my tanks…
and #2… it fits in the corner of my dining room. was just trying to figure out the length of the flat sides of the tank.

bj,
i can’t doit. it’s too deep at 24" ive seen it. beautiful. looks huge in the stand and canopy. the sides are 22-22, according to rich, very pretty
what’ll u b selling? in case jon’s falls thru for me?

72 bowfront… rectangle with bowed front only. i think the corner tank will free up some space in my dining room tho. oak frame/cabinet stand. glass canopies and a retro’d 3 tube standard flo. light. its 48" x 18 x 23. prolly still a little tall 4 ya. but lmk.

is it rr?

no

gotta go that way. sorry.

jon,
price on the 75??

on the 55 the bottoms tempered, the rest isnt. ive drilled plenty of tanks. u cant drill tha back for a external or internal horizontal overflow(the best and effiecent imo)

Better make sure of that addicted. I know 4 people just locally that have tried to drill 55s.

40 for my 75 if i can get rid of it 2 DAY and it drilled

Paul is visiting some relatives today and probably won’t be able to respond. If he doesn’t want it and you can wait till later in the week I’ll take it at that price!(I still don’t have a vehicle and the gf is out of town visiting family as well)

ive drilled a few 55s. all of them had the sticker on the bottom saying tempered glass, do not drill. which is only reffering to the bottom. mine is the same.
