Actually I’m still comtemplating whether to paint the back or find something such as a film backing for easy removal so that I can see the back of the tank. Any idea for film backing?

I have a used cone ATB skimmer that I will be using. It supposed to be rated up to 200g +. If that don’t work I have other skimmer as well that I can use.

almost does A, but i kill too many creatures i love, so. nope, but sadly

A - vinyl has become very popular in the last few years. You can pick it up from any sign shop. It doesn’t chip, flake, or fade and can be easily removed in case you ever want to be able to see from both sides of the tank.

Splurge on a big piece of one-way mirror, like an interrogation room… I had that on a 90g that was built into the wall at my old house, still gave privacy on the bedroom side, but allowed viewing from both rooms…
just a thought… cheaper with somewhat same effect would be a mirrored auto window tint…

besides that… WHOA… it’s looking sweet A ::thumbsup::

Thanks guys, great idea. I’ll look into it later.

Window tint works also, that’s what I have on my tank

Lookin real nice A

What’s the next plan??

where did you get a large one to cover the whole tank? and is it able to be remove and put back on when ever? or is it one time good deal and once taken off that’s it?

Thanks Bill. Will finish filling the tank up, hopefully by this weekend. Move sand and rocks from the old tank. Put corals in the temp tank and move them into the main tank once the temp and water parameter are good. The swimmimg animals will be added last.

Pepboys sells it in rolls and differant darkness, other thing you could do is go to sound of tristate on 13 right by you house and ask if you can just buy a few feet.yes it peals off with some work but it does and will come off

lookin good

5 Feb 2013 225g (slow) Tank Build Update:

I came home from work this morning just to meet Murphy in my fish room this morning (b@st@rd!) #@$^ ::hitsthefan:: :FLUSH). He brought with him devastation to my corals! #@$^ I lost about 90% of my prized acro stock and other corals…UGH! #@$^ Walked in the room and smell the stench of rotten water and almost :~S. Looked at the 40 breeder temp tank and couldn’t see a piece of coral in the tank at all. I drain the tank and try to saved what I could, but it wasn’t much. Hopefully what I think that was OK will come back to life again.

I don’t know what had happen, but apparently something had die and foul the water and contaminated and killed everything that was in the temp tank. By the way, that 2 gallon blue bucket was filled to the top with dead corals!

Life will go on…just have to start from the beginning! :BEER

Oh Man!! do you think there was a power outage or something toxic fell into the sump or something? that is a really fast crash.

Nope, no power outage, but not sure if anything fell in to foul the water. I didn’t see anything because the water was so murky. There was nothing sitting near the tank that I can see that can fall in the water. The only thing that I can think of is something died and foul the water over night.

#@$^ damn man that sucks so bad. Sorry to hear that.

Wow A that really sucks, I hope the ones you try to save come back for you.

Dam A
Sorry to hear that
