I might look into a prop type GPH measuring device and run some tests of my own, combined with a kill-a-watt to check the actual watt usage. The 400s state only 5 watts of electricity used, if they still only run 5 watts but put out 1300-1600 gph then they are by far wiping out the competition. The closest competitor is the Koralia 4s, but they are a ways behind. Only problem is the convoluted mess the MJs look like.

Dont buy a Kill-A-Watt, just borrow one from your friendly VP at the beginning of Feb after is has been running a month so I can figure out how much electricity we are using.

Sounds like a plan! If I can borrow at the Feb meeting and return at the March? I guess I could return sooner, just trying to minimize the Dover trip.

There wont be any rush. Borrowing it untill the march meeting will be fine with me.

In case anyone else reads this thread, I’d like to say I was probably wrong and everyone else was probably right! I’ve got pretty much no doubts that the Tang wasn’t healthy and a healthy Tang (or any) fish should always be able to get away from a powerhead!

BUT… on the other hand… a perfectly healthy anemone is more than willing to lunge itself into a modded maxi jet. (cages on those things arent very good imo) had a gbta get jammed in one of mine TWICE!!! same anemone… same PH… about 2 weeks apart.

Very true, my nem keeps putting its fingers in the powerhead which seems to have convinced it so far that isn’t a good place to move, but it keeps getting curious
