CRASH!

everthing is looking really nice. i think i lost 2 green brains, bunch of green striped shrooms, 40+ and 10+ colonie of green zoos, a few pink zoos and way too much zenia. also about 6-8 shroom frags.
im probably forgetting some stuff but i probably olny lost about 200$ worth of frags. im really glad my toadstools didnt die.
ill test everthing tommrow and will probably do a water change as well. like i said it looks good. the worst is over and in a few weeks ill be fragging and ready to trade(or thats the hope). ill try to get some pics.

yay! good luck. take things slow.

UPdate: tank looks 80%. little alge problem.
temp 82
Amm 0
ate 10-20
ite 0
salt 1.030

besides the salt everthing tested fine. ill test the ph in a min. ill be slowly dripping fresh water today. everthing is looking fine.
one thing i did notice that the red hot chilli pepers shrooms are now about 1/5 of the size they used to be. why?

Its been a traumatic couple of weeks; That and the salt is high. If you salt seems to creep up it may be worth adding an ATO.

i dont think ill be able to. usually ill check the salt a few time a week but havent had time nor have i felt like it. there will be one on my next tank.

tank looks much better. ill test everthing tommrow after i get back from snowbaording YahoO or saturday. ill try to get some pics 4 ya. probably woulnt buy anyrhing for a few weeks but i could i i really wanted somthing.

Great to hear! Sweet, where ya going boarding? I still haven’t gone this year like an idiot. If your going sat. I may show up where you are.

Have you looked at your sig, Brett?

25 reef - naso, gold stripe maroon clown, royal gramma, yellow clown goby-, toadstool, 8 head candy cane, many zoos, many shrooms, green brain, sea lettec, colt, kenya, green star polyp, purple yama, orange yama,

That’s a lot of bio-load for a 25

If you’re buying something in the next few weeks, it should probably be a larger tank …

I would say that depends on the size of said items. If they are all huge then maybe its a bit much of a bioload, if not I wouldn’t think its too much for the 25. Depends on what you are using for filtration and your water change schedule. I can imagine that is a bit cramped for the naso.

lOl i broke my left wrist and probh sprained my right wrist. ill be getting a cast in about a week or some thing like that. i do wc’s on a weekly basic. im not to worried about the naso. he loves to eat and wouldnt pass up a meal. i will olny be adding small colonies of stuff prob more expensive. tank looks good and in 6 weeks ill be back to fragging lOl

Now thats snowboarding  GolfC

Brett

You are incorrigible. You go off, in the dead of winter, to slide off a mountain covered in snow, break bones, come home, and the only thing you worry about is doing a water change on your Reef Tank!?

You~~~!!! are a True Reefer!!!

I am in Awe! I would like to give to you the first two of my baby clown fish! In appreciation of your dedication to your tank.

PS: I hope the cast don’t itch too much.

The Clowns should make you laugh!!

I disagree - a TRUE REEFER never takes vacation, never leaves the house, only sleeps for 4 hours a day - and not in a row either, can’t afford to go snow boarding, and would not allow a cast as the plaster would break-down when he sticks his arm in the tank!!!

Now the question is will Brett intentionally sniff the cast after a few weeks to compare to the smell of rotting snails???

lOl

just kidding Brett - I’m with Ken - you’re to be commended on your focus - your balance apparently is lacking - but your focus is good!!!

i would reccomend takeing ALL the lessons. our dude left and told us to come back in an hour or 2. it was ok because 2 of my friends got hurt. i won on injuary and most runs down the mountain. unfortunatly i have school tommrow. at least all my stuff will have time to grow out befor i frag it in 6+ weeks

SO it went something like this

It’s harder than it looks. I try this game and keep running into everything. Why don’t trees get out of the way when they see you coming?

i went last year, and wow it is not easy. my two sons went with me and my oldest son was going by me at top speed laughing…i was on the ground NOT LAUGHING. lOl i am taking my two sons back to camel back or blue mountain next year.

Spend the extra time in the car and go to elk mountain

Blue mountain, I think I’m going saturday.

The most important/hardest thing to learn at first is STOPPING. Otherwise you just fall down when your going top speed and need to bail, that starts to hurt after a few hours…

NOTE: When you think your ‘good’ don’t try to introduce alcohol to the situation…your not that ‘good’ and will involve pain

I tried it last year when I took my son skiing with the boy scouts. I asked the guy at the counter about the learning curve as I am actually a pretty good skiier and wanted to try snowboarding. He told me it was a 3 day curve. That’s just great I thought as I was only going to be there for a day.

Made it on to the chair lift OK. Made it off the chair lift and down that little hill even beter. Then I scooted up to the edge of the hill, turned the board and gently started sliding down the hill - I can’t call it snowboarding down the hill as that would imply some sort of control over what was doing. Alas after 20 feet i was flat on my arse.

No worries - it happens - get back up, brush myself off and try again. This time I was snowboarding - so I thought - I was cruising picking up good speed, wind in my ears, snow in my eyes, smile on my face…

Then as i am gaining more and more confidence I look down and watch in amazements as my board begins to do a complete 180 - I get scared - REALLY scared - but then it finishes the turn and I’m still going!!!

“THIS IS AWESOME!!!” I hollar to my son and his friends. then I decide I am going to make the board turn back the other way…I no sooner had the thought when the board stopped!! Not turning mind you…it just STOPPED!!!

Can you imagine what it looks like to see a 210 lbs. man doing a faceplant at 30 MPH. Apparently I got completely vertical upside down. Smashed my glasses, minor concussion and a cracked collar bone!!!

I proceeded to take my board off, walk the rest of the way down the mountain, go in to the lodge and get a cup of coffee - done for the day by 8am. :SURRENDER

Official conclusion - It should be illegal to rent snowboards to anyone over the age of 30.
