CRASH!

Can you imagine what it looks like to see a 210 lbs. man doing a faceplant at 30 MPH. Apparently I got completely vertical upside down.
Yes I can.

Can you imagine how long it took me to wipe the coffee of the monitor, drain my former keyboard, and find a new one?

Ahhh - that is just the reaction I was hoping for!!! As I typed it I had a conscious thought… “This will be sure to make SOMEONE snarf their coffee!!”

Craig, I might need some entertainment, what are you doing Saturday?

success …

Plus I get the enjoyment of watching a co-worker coming back from travel trying to figure out why their keyboard smells like coffee and doesn’t work …

I have never once smelled a piece of computer equipment in trying to determine why it no longer functions :stuck_out_tongue:

Not possible. Brett HJack 'ed his own thread already - we just continued it!!

lol my youngest son would fall and he was really having a hard time getting up so i would have to stop and fall myself to help him up. then get up and go for a few more feet and do it all over agian if he fell. i had more time on my arse than on the board i think.

But I am checking mine when I get back in the office tomorrow. I know how hard it is to find one that works around there. I also know several people on travel.

so here are my results
amm .10
nitrate 20
nitrite 0
ph 8.3
salt 1.026
mag 1350
calcium 460
phosphates .05-.12

i added the k3 and it was alot of flow. should be perfect for easy to keep sps.

i have a small hair alage on a few rocks in the tank but nothing major.

my nitrates were also high. how can i get them down?

i have had a bunch of zoos not open for a while now. i know nothings touching, eating, messing around with them so it has to be chemistry right?
any advise would be great. thanks brett

Any ammonia is not good and corals do not fair well.

The nitrate is not good but not as hurtfull as the ammonia and the phosphates will cause algae blooms not usually hurt the corals.

What type of water are you using? R/O or tap/well? Changing the water should help but there may be something else causing the high levels.

i did a water change with tap water today and it brought the amm. down.

May want to give it a day and do another partial change.

thats what i intend to do

ok amm is 0
nitrate is 80
nitrite is 0

how deadly is this? should i do a water change now or let it do its thing. how can i bring it down?

i would also like to say that once i got the power head alot of poop blew around and everthing got very well stired up. i went into the hob and sucked out most of the gunk yesterday. as far as i can tell nothing is dying. the tank looks alot cleaner now.

ill probably do a water change tommrow or wensday.

nitrate is 80
That is not that great of a level. The nitrates could be coming in from tap water you have been using. I read about a guy that tested tap water from his sink and the nitrates were around 50. I would suggest seeing if you can get some RO water from someone to do a water change and/or get your own RO unit. I have an Air Water Ice unit and I think it was one of the best things to do as a reefer. My .02.

Before you spend any more money on corals or fish you might want to consider an RO unit. If it saves the lives of a couple corals or fish because the nitrates were elevated due to tap water it would almost pay for itself right there.

I know they arent as nice to look at, but they will help stuff stay healthy longer.

tap looks like 20 by eye ball

When it comes to keeping corals healthy and happy even 20 ppm is too high for Nitrates. 80 is considered deadly to most.

Do not wait to do a water change, even if you have to use tap I’d rather have 20ppm tap water then 80ppm in my tank any day.
