Not sure what a fair price is for these, so I’ll put these up as OBO(Or Best Offer). I’ve seen prices only from $10 a polyp up to $20 a polyp not including shipping and handling which could be significant.
I’m asking $40 for 5 poplys on a large plug or trade or best offer. If you are not sure what these look like just google Purple Death Palys or Palythoa.(they would currently be placed into the Protopalythoa genus, but may soon be reclassified.)
do they have the green skirts or all purple? if they are green skirted

No green skirt, purple deaths are pure purple.
well some i see in google images do have a different skirting, and that’s what my dear wife really wants, so i guess i gotta pass jon. no probs
Paul it is likely just different conditions and lighting in different tanks. Mine look completly different then Andy’s and they are clones.(I got mine from him about a year ago) I will try to upload images.
Just ran into these lookalike that apear to have a green skirt. Horribly pale purple center though.

A photo from another coral or online isn’t exactly the same as posting a photo of the exact frag. I have seen so many corals, zoas and paly’s are the worst, were 4-5 completely different corals are being called the same thing. I am glad to see you posted a photo.
Put me on the list for your next frag of these please.
I agree, but you can see from the photo I did post it isn’t too helpfull. You can also see from the photos Paul posted, and from the response I made, that the same coral could take on a ton of different forms. I could trade you a “Yellow” Montipora capriconis and you could get mad because in a months time it turned into the same exact thing as your green monti cap with purple rim.(they are clones kept in high and low nutrients.)
I’ll try to post pics as much as possible. The money I get from selling frags currently is all going into a camera fund.
Meanwhile here are some more images of the purple deaths.(front middle) The two larger colonies you see I will be deviding up soon. The small plug near the back next to the oranges is the 5 polyp frag, facing the back of the tank, that is sold. These and two-three other frags grew from 2 polyps I got from Andy last fall/winter.

Not sure. Fact is every one pictures has overgrown it’s plugs and is growing onto the rack including the purple deaths which I just pulled off last night. Time to get fragging.

mine are 5 baby polyps, I doubt they will photograph well. If you get some good sized adult polyps take some photos for me and post them! I will take some when they get larger for sure.
I have around 10 polpys right now, the growth spurt was amazing now down to a polyp a month, i think im going to frag into 2 polpy bits and let them explode again…
Ill post some pics of mine if i get a chance, like 5 adult 3 med, 2 babies…

yep, nemmy, mine are also small, and my lights are now out.
