to be honest with you i have no clue. To have done this hobby as long as i have i still dont even know how to.lol
Where do you get your corals from? I have been searching for a place to get sps and such but I cant find anyone that has good frags.
sometimes online is best, some club members like houndsbayman here have beauties to trade or sell and sometimes the lfs snag some pretties.

Like Paul said, sometimes online is best, buy/sell/trade with other club members and of course during our club meetings (the raffle).
The closest LFS to us here in Dover is one of our sponsor The Fish Bowl, it’s a hit or miss there. They get their shippments in on Mondays and that where you’ll find me on Mondays at around noon. Of course all of our sponsor like Dr. Mac (Pacific East Aquaculture) down south in Mardela Springs about an hour from where we are at, DPA (Delaware’s Premium Aquatics) near Newark and ECA (East Coast Aquatics), Prospect Park, PA near the airport. All within one hour from us.
Awesome. I have never ordered online. Where do you guys recommend ordering from online if i deside to do so? Does any of you do group orders on stuff like that?
What do yall think of Pacfic East Aquaculture. They have nice stuff online and i dont mind paying good money for nice frags and other corals.

been there 3 times. it’s extremely clean, eat off the floor clean, tons and tons of stuff, not many fish, but priced too high. extremely knowledgeable, and inexpensive shipping to us in de. very well packed, should have a longer guarantee on clams. join and get a premium membership as it’s well worth it. take out a second mortgage and drool at their offerings.
If you live in Delaware and are a hobbyist you really should check out Dr. Mac’s aka Pacific east Aquaculture at least once in person. We usually have at least yearly road trips down to see them, but haven’t done that in over a year… Perhaps it’s time.

Already in the works for this Spring. Just waiting on the weather to get warmer so we don’t have to be concerned with snow screwing things up.
I have heard from lots it was high but their online prices werent to bad something like 10-30 dollar frags. Thats not bad for some of the nicer coral frags i seen. I may be planning a trip down myself sometime around the end of the month once taxes come back if anyone is interested in tagging along.
I hate i missed out on that MR. Coral sale he had going on this past month.
Mr. Coral this month? Wait until tomorrow and there will be another one.
I am curious who said Dr. Mac’s prices were high. They’re live stock is healthier then you’ll find anywhere around so they should charge more. If you think their online prices weren’t bad you should go in as you’ll sometimes find even cheaper prices in store. If the club officers organize a trip with enough people they often offer a discount on non-sale items. We usually go in the summer, not sure about this time of year.
Awesome thanks for the info Gordonious.
What do you guys think? Im planning on switching my substrate and making a new stand for my tank.
Here me out:
http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-202020624/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053
Theses are on sale at home depot. Im not a good wood worker so i was thinking about gettin one of these, putting some nice trim around the corners, braces inside to hold the tank and a nice surface for the tank to sit on. It will consolidate my sump and will allow more room for a larger sump so my Skimmer and everything will fit more comfortably VS bein squeezed and wedged in.
Thoughts, concerns, comments would be appreciated.
PS staining and painting the inside and out as well.
Agreed on Mac’s prices. He has really high quality stuff, I’ve never had issue with anything. As non-sponsors go, I trust LiveAquaria, they have always been more than accommodating with their customer service.
i will be giveing Dr Mac a shot he has some really nice pieces.
More pics and to show how my whole setup is. Hens the reason for wanting a larger stand for more room.
I see why you want a bigger stand.
Yeah, it was to small for a ten gallon so i picked up this little stand and improvised. It works for now.
If nobody realized it the first picture in my last post was a video. It shows the colors my clowns are starting to take on.
Any thoughts on my stand idea?
:Welcome)
Are in Dover, or near by??? I am in Camden, so it’s good to hear that there is another reefer near me. ::
Yes sir i am In dover at the AirForce base
Hey Casey, if you do make a trip to PEA (Dr Macs) your welcome to stop and check out my tank and I may have some corals you would be interested in. Here is a link to my private web site.

That piece from HD should work out just fine after some bracing to make sure it will accomadate the weight of your tank.
Hey houndsbayman,
I checked out your page you have an amazing tank and seen alot i would be interested in haha. Im def looking for about 10-15 more frags to fill in my tank then to let if grow in. Where are you located? Im always looking for places to go and things to do on my days off.
THank
Casey
