Kyle's 75G Build

I like the size of the pics.

Tank looks good. If your open for suggestions, I would open up your rock work some. Put some spaces between them and you will have much better circulation, especially around the rocks.

Won’t let me post any more pictures. I’m getting an error message

That’s the server running out of memory trying to resize the image for the “thumbnail” it shows in the post which you click on to see the full sized image. Like Frank said, if you can post a slightly lower resolution image that shouldn’t happen.

Again… new host and new forum are in the plans for this year

Can’t forget the trachy! Excuse the glass lol

Always open to suggestions John. Do you have any ideas? I like having the open sand bed on the end for some negative space.

The tank is coming along nicely. Looks like you have added a few things. Definetly dig that clam. Did you just keep the refund they gave you or are you going to get another?
Trach is looking better [emoji41]

I just kept the refund. They would’ve had to ship me a new one, and I figured it was more effort than it’s worth.

I fixed this. There wasn’t enough memory allocated.

Thanks! I think the dragon eyes are toast :FLUSH)

Damn. They can be really fickle creatures.

Sorry to hear that…

I think all is going well. Checked my levels today. Calcium is 480, Alk is a little low at like 7.8, SG is 1.024… Skimmer loss probably. I’ll slowly fix it with a water change but nbd I think. Otherwise, I’ve only found one whelk in recent days which was promptly disposed of. Finally took a razor blade to clean that hard to get algae off the lower glass too!

Here’s the clam :~S

Great stuff! Mike at ASR runs his tanks at 1.024. He said the colors looked a lot better there.

Thanks Adam. I wasn’t trying to keep it at .024 just seems to creep it’s way down there between water changes.

Tank is looking good Kyle. It has surely come a long way.

1.024 isn’t bad for softies and lps. Going heavy sps I’d aim more at 1.025 to 1.026. Personally I aim for 1.025 in both tanks. Didn’t get the results when I was going to 1.026 that I was expecting. I was reading alot of heavy sps tanks were aiming for higher salinity to keep the numbers higher.

I finally rearranged my 75 so I can turn my 60 back to sps only. Just need a clean up crew for all that detritus of not having a cuc for several years lol.

Looking good Kyle. My opinion, its time to stop putting more animals in there and watch what you have grow, I know its hard to do. Concentrate on keeping your water parameter at bay and you will see the fruit of your labor.

If you’re looking for CUC additions, I like my fighting conch. He’s pretty cool and is always active. Even buries in the sand when he goes to sleep to help aerate the sand bed.

Fighting conchs are awesome. I actually just got one this week. Assuming I can keep it alive in QT for another 74 days it will be a great addition to the tank.

I utilized my fallow period to the best of it and added the majority of my inverts during that timeframe. Thankfully both my shrimp have been doing just fine. The blood red shrimp molted and survived!

Gotta make lemonade out of lemons. Good call!

One of the BTA split over the weekend. Cool to see things multiplying and growing! Started with one BTA and now have three
