I’ll have to remember for future reference. It was thankfully the only coral that is STN in my tank. Everything else is looking good!
Man that stinks! Seems like that is inevitable for SPS at some point. (Really all corals) They grow for a while but eventually portions die.
There are so many factors that must be considered once someone chooses to maintain SPS corals in their tank. Having consistent parameters is, IMO,the hardest of all.

Second I would even add mixed corals with sps can play a part in problems.
In the ocean the corals grow in areas that suit them. In our tanks they don’t get a choice, they go where we put them and it can and is sometimes extremely tricky to please them all.
All we can do sometimes, is learn from our experiences and try to make sure we don’t repeat that again.

+1 Totally agree with Just Some Guy
Funny when I was writing my post I was thinking the exact same thing ::
So I’ll try to work on my stability now I guess :BB) feels like whenever you get settled there’s a new problem! Couple stupid reef chemistry questions: If my baking soda is expired, it is still fine for reefing purposes since it is still sodium bicarb right? I have yet to notice any significant changes in my calcium, would it be satisfactory to just add some baking soda to my ATO once I figure out consumption vs daily water input from the ATO?
Also, is the forum acting slow/glitchy for anyone else? There’s a definitive lag in my typing
Forum is working OK for me. Currently working on something but that shouldn’t be affecting posts.
If I log on the computer it’s next to impossible to type. Big typing lag only on here.
Wish I had the answer for the baking soda. I have using Seachem reef fusion 2 part

How strange. I’ll dig around tomorrow and see if I can figure out why. I’m on my phone with no trouble.
And now it’s acting a bit better. I only noticed it on my Macbook, every other website was working fine.
Should I just dose two part then? My only concern would be driving my calcium up too high.
I don’t even dose calcium. It maintains 420-440 at all times.

Gotcha. I hadn’t done much research into dosing. I thought 2 part meant it contained both calcium and alkalinity, not that they were two different solutions lol. I watched Randy’s video from BRS on 2 part. Cleared that confusion right up
Everything is looking good. Nice work ;D
Looking good!
Where are those PAR numbers!?
I’m going to get around to it tonight. I was fiddling with it the other day but didn’t have the time to get an accurate set like I wanted. Since I swapped out my lights, I was getting around 450 on the top right side of the rocks and about 100 on the sand bed on the left.
I’m interested in your opinion on the process and the setup too. I think it is user friendly, but I also set it up
Honestly, I didn’t read your instructions and just turned the tablet on and figured it out on my own. Before sticking it in the water, I read your directions but I had already used it at work to measure the PAR for our lights in the lounge ;D. I would say it’s pretty user friendly.
