It’s a reef tank and only 75 gallons. I would advise no. I know a lot of people that have not had good luck with butterfly fish. Some are very finicky eaters and I believe are known to nip at corals a lot more then fox faces.
Only corals my fox face will sometimes nip is usually zoa’s
If you guys think the wrasse would be an ok addition to the group I think I’ll stick with the list. Do you have a recommendation on the stocking order? I would be doing them one at a time most likely.
I feel like I had a cleaner shrimp in the tank with my melanurus, but I honestly can’t recall.

Without researching this I would go with the least territorial fish first. Just food for thought, clown fish once bonded and breeding can become very aggressive towards tank mates that get to close or even you when you stick your hands in the tank for maintenance.
There are a few good sites online that are useful in determining what fish is peaceful/ semi aggressive and also compatibility.
I personally research prices and some of this info right off of liveaquaria.com then go to the lfs to try and find the fish that i feel suits my needs/wants.
Contemplating picking up a larger QT tank from Petco while the dollar per gallon sale is going on. Would you recommend a 20L or a 29G?
20long is good enough for a qt.

The bigger the better.
Checked out my lone survivor who’s in quarantine… his fins either look to have rot, or he gets burned by the heater because he hides in the corner it’s tucked into all the time. I know my pictures aren’t the best, but the fins have black edges to them. Any suggestions?
Probably an infection brought on by the stress. Have you tested for ammonia?
Yeah, I have an ammonia alert badge that’s read 0 the whole time. I put some cardboard on three sides of the tank so he feels more secure.
Would probably be a good idea to do a round of antibiotics
I got some furan-2 from amazon Saturday. It’s probably at my house now. I’ll dose when I get home from work.
Also, made some smart changes… Got two Vortech MP-40’s which are quiet as a church mouse, and upgraded my return pump to more GPM. Solved the problem of the whining noise from the Jebao PP’s in else mode as well as the buildup of bubbles in the top of my U-Tube for the overflow. Not all bad
Nice
Sweet.

Went to the LFS today just looking around. Asked about the Korean Blue Angel and Gem Tang… He said both could go in a 55 gallon tank :: just shows you should always do your own due diligence. I don’t think I would want a blue angel that grows to be 1’ long in a 4’ long tank. Poor fish… :BB)
That’s a shame. Not all of them care, some just want to make the sale.
Anyone on here quarantine corals/inverts prior to introducing them to their DT? I’m trying to decide how risk averse I want to be in my post-fallow period.
Inverts, yes. Corals, no. Although I’d like to do corals too. With inverts you just need to wait until they molt. (Except for snails obviously)
How long do you QT them for? The full 76 days or a shorter timeframe?
