Yep, 76 days or until they molt. Or was it 72 days…? I can’t remember now. :BB)
Corals I do try to dip all. Fish if I feel there might be a issue it does not go in my display. I think it’s worth paying extra at some places that actually qt fish before they go on the market. Certain fish stores I have had the most problems with to the point any time I buy from them it’s a 50/50 chance sometimes not even that good of odds. Just got a yellow tang and a risky looking wrasse. The wrasse eats only brine atm but alive and the tang died on day 2. I have tried different acclimations from these places with no solid luck. Luckily I don’t buy fish all the time. Mostly corals and equipment lol.

Ok! This Wednesday will be 8 weeks fallow ::hitsthefan:: … I placed an order for some fish, which will come tomorrow from Saltwaterfish.com. I have a 20L for QT now that’s set up and ready to go. It comes complete with heater, ammonia alert badge, PP4 powerhead, HOB filter, lid to prevent carpetfish, PVC hides, a little bit of calperula, and a sand container since I got a sand-burying wrasse. It’s been set up for several weeks so hopefully we are good to go! I’ll leave the fish in QT for at least three weeks depending upon how things go and will dose prazi 2x, otherwise I’ll just monitor. I read online that wrasses are very prone to having flukes (up to 80% of imported wrasses have flukes according to a study I read) but otherwise I’m hoping just to monitor and acclimate to tank life as well as frozen foods.
Good luck with the new fish! I hope the all arrive well and transition into the display also.
You have been taking your time and putting some good things into practice, you deserve this!
Very exciting! I’m planning to get a wrasse in the near future too. Let me know how your experience with them goes.
Good luck!
Any idea what type you may get Adam?
I had a melanurus wrasse in the past and really liked it. I think that’s what I’m leaning towards. Definite jumper though, so a lid is a must.
Glad to hear the fallow period has come to an end. Now you can add some fish and stock them corals in there
I picked up a male Malenaurus wrasse from DPA a month or so ago that’s been a awesome fish in the tank. I would love to get either a female same species or a few others. I might check out tsa(if memory serves me right) in Jersey they qt and treat all the fish before sale. Nice place to check out also and not to far from DE/NJ line. I’ll pay a little extra for that piece of mind.

TSM? I trust no QT but my own. Doesn’t hurt to start with a healthy specimen though.
TSM might be it. They are in a industrial park. I would still qt to make sure. I have heard numerous guys speak very highly of them. Pricey but good quality.
What happened with fed ex? The picture didn’t load right for me. Night delivery instead of first thing in the am? I ordered some corals and they came super late in the day. I basically took the day off waiting. So I spent big bucks and lost any income for the day [emoji35] luckily everything was good and the prized piece is still looking bubbly

FedEx just jacked up the delivery time. Fish are at the house now so I’m almost home. That’s a gorgeous shroom you picked up there! Holy cow
Awesome. How are the fish looking? What did you get don’t think I seen a fish list anywhere of the definite fish.
Thanks for the compliment. It is definitely one of my favorites. Both of my bounces look really good to me at least. Still trying to get a few or so more shrooms. Just hard paying that much for some of them.
How are your corals doing?

Your duncan coral looks amazing. My zoas seem hit or miss, the blue tubbs you gave me are happy, but others have been closed up for a while. I got a blue millie, which seems less happy recently than it did initially. The fish order I got this time was a leopard wrasse, yellow longnose butterfly, tangaroa goby, and mandarin. I started culturing copepods a few weeks ago that I plan on using to boost the tank population of pods since the wrasse and mandarin will both eat them.
Here’s the conch. He’s pretty cool!!
Nice fish list. How do they look? Did they come nice and plump?
I believe you got the setosa, green slimer and the blue millie from me.
Ah, i have names mixed up on here. The blue Millie grew well, and then for the past week or so it’s had less PE. Haven’t done anything different with the tank, it just started. I’ll let you know about the fish in the morning. Didn’t look at them too much since i was trying to keep it dark and not stress them any further.
