Thanks for the pics and info, John. Looks like I will be trying the fixture with no optics.

I think you’ll be happier with the spread, only thing is maybe lower mounting for higher par, but thats def a maybe.
it may be perfect spread and good enough par at that height. I’d go higher with mine, and check the par for you… but i’m maxed out inside the hood…
btw John… if you do remove the optics i’d do a better job then i did removing the glue residue.
I gave it a quick brushing with a light rag, and removed large chunks by hand (its kinda like peeling sunburn). but after putting it back together and hanging it i noticed some small bits of dried glue flakes laying inside the glass verdict_in
I don’t think it’ll affect or hurt the light, but I’ll take it back apart sometime and give it a stiff tooth-brushing, or a light brushing with a wire brush.

Thanks for the info >IDEA<
Resurrecting this as I’m interested in purchasing TWO of the Multi Color units. I read there were others interested. Saves me and everyone else about $30 per unit if we get together a group buy. (these are numbers that I’ve seen on other forums as recent as November 2012, usually 10 units or more, and I understand that Club Officers handle the groupbuy’s and interaction between the vendor and the club)
I tried to put together a full spectrum build on LEDGroupBuy and I’m at $165ea. w/o a heatsink, dimmers, hanging kit, and about half of the LED’s and decided it was silly if I can get a ready made unit for cheaper, and already have multiple members with great experiences with the units.
Anywho, put me in for 2
Anyone else?
Rob, i know last month Matt was looking to get two more, and i think he said a discount on 5… maybe?
he’ll chime in i’m sure…
I think the quoted discount on 5 or more was $160 and 10 or more was $155. As of right now I am short on cash so I will not be ordering for a little while. Sorry.
That light looks really nice, especially for the price! I’m replacing my Nova Extreme Pro thats over my 30breeder and was going to pick up this: http://www.championlighting.com/product.php?productid=73007&cat=0&page=1 but now I may consider one of these!
Just to refresh this thread. John (houndsbayman), John (saltcreep), Matt and Rob or who else whom ever got the AJM reef LEDs fixture.
How the lights working out for you guys since you guys got it?
John (saltcreep) or Matt. Those fixture that comes with out the optics, can you add them after you received them or does it have to come from Andrew with the optics already in them? John, I read that you took yours off.
A… the optics can be added easily… they’re only attached with a bit of elmers glue.
A, I like it. Still only using the one fixture over my frag tank.
Mine are in the mail this week A. Chineese New Year delayed new orders.
