Just moved to Middletown, Delaware last Wed. Was wondering who’s who with the LFS. Been to Premium Aquatics already, just wondering if there were any other stores around with a nice selection of saltwater fish.
Thanks,
Mike
If you look at the top of this page there is a link to “Local Stores”.
Many have a nice selectiion of SW fsh and coral. I would reccomend you take your time and compare several of the stores (most are within 15 - 30 min of each other) before spending your hard earned money.
Some of the stores get much better deals on some types of fish while others get better deals on different fish.
Welcome, hope you like the first state.
there are really only 2 i have opinions about, but i hear DPA is good.
Welcome to the club!!
Hey Mike
Middletown is very nice and upcoming area. I have family living down there that I just visited this week and I used to date a girl who lived in Middletown. Drive slow. If you haven’t figured it out, they have 24/7 speed traps. You will get a ticket for going 25 in a 20.

From my experience you can scratch the following 2 off your list:
Fishman
Just fish
Both not worth your time or money.[/quote]
Everyone should take the time to form their own opinions. But it is always good to hear from others that have shopped around.
dpa or bills greenbank are the best two. both are competatively priced and bill finally got the new coral system up.

where is bills greenbank?
go to prospect park its a bit of a drive for you but East Coast Aquatics is a nice store too, but i try to support my LFS
bit of interesting side note about your new town, Robin Williams filmed “Dead Poets Society” in Middletown DE
williams greenbank is on greenbank rd, behind the pep boys in prices corner
ah yea, that place, i wasnt sure the name… didnt the owner get shot out front of the store??
no, thats the wrong side of Kirkwood Hgwy.
Thats on Old Capital Trail across from Cranston Heights Apartments south of Prices Corner. Different guy, different fish store, very tragic. It was the owner and he was murdered in the fishstore during an armed robbery.
Who the heck robs a fish store?
Welcome Mike! Glad to have ya.
I like DPA (Delaware Premium Aquatics). If you feel like heading south a bit you can hit The Fish Bowl.
I’m not too far from Middletown.
yes, the tulls murder was tragic, i feel theres more to it than an armed robbery, the guy may have gotten wacked cuz he couldnt pay the mob back his loans, but who knows.
Welcome! Please feel free to start another thread and introduce yourself and tell us a little about your tank. Always good to see new people.
As Craig said there is a list of LFS at the top. You need to be a little open minded about the word local living in such a small state. There are several good stores with in the state and several world famous stores with in a couple miles outside our border. Lots to visit in the area.

That Fish Place in Lancaster, PA. is definitely worth the drive, you can buy aquarium supply there for almost
wholesale compare to the stores around here. And their fish and coral stock is immense.
I think the club should get together sometime and carpool there!! It would a lot of fun…
i go to that fish place almost weekly for supplies/equipment needs. there livestock is large, but it is mostly run of the mill stuff, and some is highly priced. 3 head normal colored acans for 100 bucks WHAT?! great for equipment tho, and reptiles

Watch what you say if you don’t know him. Ken was a great guy and full of knowledge. He took the time with many a young aquariest to get them the correct info. I got my first tank and fish from Him. I also remember talking to him about corals before any store in the area carried corals/
Here is the court case
agreed. please be more respectful. im assuming you didnt intend for the comment to come out they way it did, however please moderate your own comments so we dont have to do it for you. thank you.

Justin
I know you probably didn’t mean that in the way it’s put out there but that was one of the nicest most knowledgeable people I ever met and I knew him pretty well and attended his funeral. Like Shawn said please be more respectful.
Also was Lee Tull not Ken
So sad…
