update as it was when i left a half hour ago:
got in a 7"-8" queen angel, 2 aussie harlequin tusks, another dozen frags, some loose shrooms, sun polyps, flame angels, hippo tangs, tiger sand conchs, adult red coris wrasses, and a load of other stuff. (some sweet rock too)
we have clean up crews galore! ora brought us 2 boxes yesterday with 3 different types of clowns, macro algaes, and a few sps pieces. tanks r stocked and set up is underway! EVERY purchase will be discounted! 3 mystery boxes for raffle from 25 dollar value to 100 dollar value, all for a buck a ticket. and a 60gal hex tank and 3 tube hood and light for raffle, 2 for 5 bucks! giveaways for the kids (some for the parents too!) word scrambles and treasure hunts (worth free raffle tickets to the winner). cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and ALL the trimmings and snacky desserts. (i saw a 3 gal bucket of potato salad for the 1st time last night) lol
im sure im leaving some stuff out, but im expecting a great time! hope everyone can join us!

I was in earlier, that queen angel is ridiculous! Lots of nice stuff, not sure on the macro’s, but not caulerpa ssp. (that I’ve seen anyway). Red, green, bright green- cool stuff!
I’ll be going, but won’t be there till hours later and have some other places to go before and after. I also won’t be able to drop any money on anything except for supporting the club with a little raffle.
Unfortunately my streak is at an end. I wont be making the event tomorrow. Im sure it will be a blast and i look foward to seeing pics of the event! I want to thank Joe and Bj both for doing such a great job organizing things. I hope to see everyone at the meeting.
Great meeting. Too bad shawn was not there. Great turn out, picked up a few new members, and the place was PACKED… I could barely film because i was holding people up…

WOW! where to start… it looked like black friday at wal mart when tickle me elmo came out!! we had 4 employees on hand and couldnt stand still for a second for the first 3 hours of the event! i am so glad drc showed up! glenn and joe manned the grill and food for us. i honestly didnt have enough people on staff to do both! i think joe said they grilled up 80 burgers and who knows how many dogs! ellen handled “club relations” and talked to folks about the club. (ran the raffle for awhile too!) i even got her answering the phone once or twice… just to see if she still had it! lmao. ended up doing the sump demo, which was nice. hope everyone learned a little something. unfortunately, by 430 when we were scheduled to do the beginner saltwater demo with jon and jen, we had pretty much died down. but much thanks to them for getting their album together and prepping for the demo.
a million thanks to joe and glenn for completely handling the food for us! (set up and take down/clean up) i think i even saw joe sweeping! lol thanks guys

so, long story short… the turnout was way over what we expected! the raffles were a success! the food was great, and noone left hungry! and i need to order A LOT of fish for this week!! lol i hope everyone had a great time, and the club picked up some new members along the way.
My kids and I enjoyed it! Thanks for the great event DRC and TFB. btw, I have to say the kids gift bags were a NICE touch…My daughter was excited to walk out of the store with her own bag of goodies that looked much better than my plain ol’ white plastic bag filled with bags of water! Silly daddy! lol
We came later in the day so I missed the peak busy time… But nevertheless the staff was kind and helpful for sure - food was good…even the “oregano” topped baked bean platter.
Come to think of it dried oak flavored “oregano” was everywhere!
But seriously - was my first time there and won’t be my last - great job to all

This was a great event. I spoke to three propesctive new members and had a great time hanging out and helping with the raffle. It brought back many fond memories of when I used to work at the Bowl.
I hope we have a chance to do this again next year! YahoO
