mine: taken 10/22. a 65 gal 3 year old current fixture, inexpensive bulbs, slimpaq. all info is in pic. arrows indicate a rewading at the back of the tank
the 75 aquailluminations are 13 inches above the water level for a good spread. on the left is one ai horizontally mounted, over the clams are 2 ai’s mounted vertically, approximately where the markings are on top of tank. they are running at this power for 4 hours a day, the 2 hours on either side of that is about 60%, rest of time lights are fairly or very dim
out of the water, under the lights only, the meter read about 1900, in the sun it read 2500
Wow…thats pretty impressive readings

dog ate it…
i tested a lot and got many readings but i don’t know how to post the pic with the numbers if paul can do it i have to be able too, he can’t even text!! i will say this my clams are getting 230-250 par
here are the numbers. the 3 numbers together on the top are, top is front, middle is mid tank, and the bottom one is the back this is .5 to 1 inch below the water surface.
This is with all lights on normally run, it consists of 8 110w vho’s that are about 1.5 years old, and 28 3 watt royal blue led’s from cree. from the center divider of the tank to the right i have 2 strips of led’s totaling 24. Mounted above the center divider is the 4 remaining led on a block heat sink. shining on the tabling acro, then to the left is the par 38 shining to the right at an angle all led’s have 80* lenses. also are 455nm, led’s at 80% power
Here are the vho types all made by uv lighting
5 super actinics 420nm
1 454 blue 454nm
1 act. white 12k
1 aquasun 10k
my goal was to keep sps on the right side of the tank and to try to keep more light on that side.
I also tested the quarantine tank which is a 10g with the par 38 it had 278 par on the bottom of the tank. will test the refugium also with pc lights 4 65w
the tank is a 150 48x24 31 tall
Nicely done Tim ::
you’ve got ton of light also GolfC
oh most wonderful dunkhead, who gave you the par meter to use? who sits in your car as it makes global warming worse? who lets your daughter call me names? who turned you on to clams? who can’t see your house because the grass is too high–ever hear of a lawnmower? get a goat!
nice numbers, btw.
Nice readings guys. Both of your guys tanks looks great and well lit. When do I get to use the meter?
Thanks Paul for putting up with me. And it is a clean diesel btw. My grass is in it’s natural state in the wild lol. I like to keep it o natur el. Ha ha I keep it looking good early then get bored of it in the fall. A I will be done soon Jason wants to use it too.
“A” I will race you for it. YahoO. I have to worn you I now have a bionic knee that makes me run faster and jump higher! Sorta like “pf fylers” (I bet paul will know that ref) :BEER

LOL! Jason you just down the street from Tim. You go ahead, I’ll get it after you. Paul must be older than me, cause I have no idea what the hick you’re talking about. ::
i’m old enough to be your grandpop, u kid.
OK, here’s my measurements for my 120 gal DD, 48x24x24. My ligthings are 250W 20K MH DE HQI and 4x65W Actinic PC. All the bulbs has been replace since May and going on 6 month. So, with these readings it seems pretty low or maybe the quality of my bulbs. However, the animals are growing and coloring up as usual.
This thread’s selling me on LEDs, awesome numbers Paul
Those numbers look good A, and your tank looks nice also ::
yeah good numbers looks good and full of life, nice.
Thanks guys. I’m trying to keep it nice.
since we have a lot of info on a lot of lights different depths and setups, shouldn’t this thread by a sticky? Also what is high par and what is low? what is the min. for some types of corals? Hope someone can share some exp. or info on this.
