Patrickreef's Aquarium

Finally got internet at home so now I am ready to start a tank thread. You know you have it bad when you have a whole room dedicated to aquariums. Here is my “fish room”

where it all began fresh water tanks.

Then 5 year ago started with a 30 gal salt water reef tank and I am up to three tanks in use and one in the works for a frag tank which should have life in it by Feb.

40 gal breeder used for QT tank.

Frag tank project. Have had the tank dry since March 2014. Filled with water over new year break. Lights on order. Pumps on order. Black egg crate in today. 100’s of frags ready for their new home. Stay tuned as this project gets underway.

Thanks. I have a lot less tanks than I used to have over 20 freshwater tanks now I am down to 10 freshwater and 4 salt water. But the tanks have gotten bigger with time.

Some of my zoa collection.

Just getting started many have never been photographed yet. See any zoas you like let me know there is a good chance I have a frag available or can make one.

I’d like to see them with the lights on. But waiting for the rest verdict_in

Go figure I was off work today to get an order of inverts and thought I would also spend the day taking pictures but now I can’t find the camera. Will post more when I find it.

Is that a strawbery feilds chalice?

Not sure what name it had got it from Dr mac several years ago. I was thinking raspberry thorns but it may be one in the same as Strawberry fields.

Maybe 2 yrs ago? If so that was mine. I sold it to them at our first swap. It is a feilds if that’s the case. I would love to get a peice back if you have any

When I do some fragging this week I will cut a piece. You can have for free since you already bought two things from me.

A few more Zoas.

Have any of that turaki[/quote]

If it keeps growing like it has this past month It won’t be long I swear it has doubled in size in the past month after not having grown forever. Just went back to changing about 30 to 40 gals of water a week.

latest happenings.

made the frag racks and all three are in place. Just waiting on lights to get in been on order Since Jan. 2nd but just received notice last week that they will ship this week.

There are three different styles of frag rack.

The typical shelves with three levels.

DSC00557[1] by phubbard26, on Flickr

A slanted rack that is elevated in the back and slopes towards the front.
DSC00556[1] by phubbard26, on Flickr

and a pyramid style with the top cut off. Not seen any like this that I know of but thought it was a way that I could get more area than the typical shelving. Also I have noticed a lot of zoas grow well on plugs when the plugs are slanted. So I am interested to see how the frags grow and the flat high area should be great for sps frags.
