Photos of my new fish/corals

I finally got time to snap a few pics of my new wrasses and corals. I worked a ton of over time while I was in Worcester, and of course I blew it all on my tank. I added another mp40 which let me take 1 of my tunze nano streams out. I think I am done adding fish to my tank for now as I am up to 9 at the moment.

The acro. I can’t wait to see this when it grows out a little. ;D

I call first dibs on frags. If you don’t mind me asking, where did you get it from?

Very nice!!! where did you get your clams from??

Okay, you are first in line. I got it from cherry corals. I also got the pink lemonade, aqua delight, lokani, and tourquoise stag from them. If you are looking for LE or hard to find corals they have a great selection.

Thanks billrob.

The crocea and the squamosa came from DPA, and the maxima from Dr. Macs.

Very nice, are all of your pics w/ flash on?

What size is that tank?

95 wave i think. nice fish. cant wait to see the coral grow out. have u considered how fast the coral will grow? im not an expert but something to take into account. hope all continues to go as well as it has

Yes, I almost always use the flash because I don’t have a tripod. The photos really dont show how nice the colors on the corals look. I have tough time with this. My pink millie always looks brown ???

I am battling a serious red slime on my sand bed, and it is driving me crazy. I am about to do another 20% water change and try to siphon it all out, but I know it will be back tomorrow. This is the first time I have had a cyno issue. I know the cause over feeding while I was out of town. I am hoping my aggressive w/c schedule will knock it down.

Yep its a 95 wave. I sure hope the corals continue to grow fast. I think there will be enough space, and I will frag if they start to grow to close. I like tanks that have a good variety of corals, but I am aware that there is a limit. I think I may be close to it right now. Let me know if you want any frags bz.

the real question is what do i want lOl. ill let you know.so do u like the vortech better then the tunze

Still great looking pics, I like to see them with their natural light though! A trick I use is to take a deep breath and exhale slowly and pull the trigger just as you reach the end of your breath, you can usually get the camera to stay fairly still doing this. It also works great for shooting a rifle long range (but I’m guessing your not interested in that…)

Good luck with the cyano, I had cut back the feeding, lowered the lighting period a bit and I could get it all out for a few days at a time, but it would always come back. I finally got all that I could out and used the red slime remover. My corals weren’t happy for a day or two, but they all came out fine and I’m now red slime free.

the yellow wrasse is just eyepopping, ellen. my birdsnests i got from you are looking real happy!

Thanks for tip on breathing. I am not very good at hand held shots when the shutter speed is slow. My hand are to darn shaky. I am going to break down and buy a tripod one of these days.

I actually bought some chemi-clean to remove the red-slime, but I am too darn chicken to use it. I have so much time and money invested in my tank to lose it over some stupid red algae. Not to mention I have become quite attached to my fish. I just did another 16g water change tonight, changed my carbon, GFO, and syphoned my sump clean. I will cut back on feeding and I am going to run just 2 bulbs for a couple of days and see if this helps.

ellen, a month ago. i used chemi clean i got from icy, just as direx said, waited 48 hours and changed water. no cyano remained at all. no damage, no losses. i don’t think you should worry, if you do it acc to their direx. a level spoon [tiny spoon included] per 10 galls, include sump.

Thanks for telling me your experiences Paul. If I can’t get rid of it soon with what I am doing, I may end up giving the chemi clean a try.
