Realistic dream fish.

What are some realistic dream fish that you’ve always wanted to have. Things that actually fit into a tank 300g or less.

To start things off I will say I have always wanted a black tank and a magnificent foxface. Though the black tang is a bit out of budget at this point.

There are also some Candy Basslet’s I have always greatly admired. Though I would want to find a mated pair and I couldn’t even afford half of one fish at this point. LiveAquaria® - Liopropoma carmabi

What is on your want/dream list?

Mine was a orange tail emp angel. It took me two years to find one with perfect lines but was well worth the wait.

If this fish has to be reasonably within my reach I would say the Scott’s fairy wrasse.

If money was no object there are many fish of the Cirrhilabrus (fairy wrasse) species I have seen photos of that are stunning but extremely rare. The rhomboid fairy wrasse is obtainable but at $300 slightly out of range for me right now.

Chevron or Achilles for me.

Achilles purple and Scott’s for me.

Would you buy an adult Chevron? I feel you on the Achilles.

You mean a purple tang?

Scottman81, I meant more realistic in terms of it is possible to keep it alive in a tank 200gallons or less more long term then budget wise. Nothing that gets massive or is pretty much 99% impossible to keep alive. If it were budget wise I’d be listing a black molly converted to salt water or a plastic fish I found at the dollar store, lol.

So is that your exact fish in your logo? Those are very impressive fish, but I am more of a reef guy who likes to be able to keep all types of corals, sponges, and so on then a FO hobbyist. Prefer just about 100% reef safe animals.

Purple tang yes. My tank is too small for multiple tangs. If I get a bigger tank I will load up on tangs. Wrasses too those types are my favorite.

Achilles Tang, Moorish Idol, Queen angel.

Do they have to be reef safe? :stuck_out_tongue:

magnificent foxface… definitely.

I would prefer a juvi chevron starting but i still think they look amazing as full grown adults. ( black with a tiny color to them) They have such personality.

I’m saving up for a Chromis viridis… By x-mas i might have enough for a pair ::thumbsup::

Mine was a achillies tang but I finally got it so I’m all good:-)

I have always wanted a Marine Betta, but have not been able to make the commitment needed for feeding it.

I think my next purchase will be a trio of Ventralis Anthias.
