Rosti's Coral Reef Ecosystem

very nice and nice camera work

Looking good Rosti!

Longspine Urchin, Black (Diadema) decided to reproduce right after lights out, water column became a little cloudy and all of the corals immediately extended their polyps.

Very cool ::thumbsup:: Does it do that often? or is that the first time you caught it? i have a blue pincushion, seen it do that once, and like you said, the coral loved it!

Protect your power cords! My urchin ate my cord to my p.h. It was a longspine black. Cool vid he looked backed up ha ha

MP40’s. He was, LOL

Hello everyone, finally have some time to do update of my reef tank. I feel like this reef tank is on kinda cruise control now. It requires very little input from me to run. I still feed 6 frozen cubes and 30ml DT’s daily. Big change is 5g water change is done weekly now. I clean front panel once a week, change GFO/Carbon (one cup) and clean algae scrubber every two weeks. I haven’t put my hands in display for 5-6 month now, except when donating frags. Currently dosing 90ml Cal/Alk daily on controller. Tank is doing good because DSB is doing good and I truly feel it’s the key to having a stable environment.

Thanks for sharing Rosti. As usual stunning! By the way did you up grade your lighting systems? or is it the same ones that you mentioned in the begining. It is MH right?

Thank you!
Lighting is the same, 2 150W 15K MH XM bulbs, 4 54W attinics, 4 moon light LED’s stopped working 3 month ago. I didn’t had a chance to find out why LED’s out. I added 10k T5 single bulb fixture for little red color on front.

::thumbsup:: set the cruise control, and watch it grow!

great work

Rosti, if you could do or change anything different to your tank/set up, what would you do? thanks.

Have a bigger (custom made/DIY) refuge/sump that would have a build in algae scrubber. Also little less rock on right side.

Thank for the info Rosti. I’m in the process of seting up a new tank. And of course right now I’m researching on ways to better and improve the old ways that I’m doing with my old tank. I love your set up and starting to lean towards the way you have your system set up. I’m sure I will have more questions for you later along my build. Thanks again.

Nice! Lots of greenery in the fuge.

Lookin great Rosti ::thumbsup::

Nice video.

Man you have a lot of asterina starfish!

It’s been a while since we’ve had an update. I hope everything is going alright. I’m willing to be there has been growth in the last month and a half. Any new animals?

+1 any updates Rosti?

    • yeah… where the HE** have you been? ::rofl::
