September 2010 DRC Meeting

Well I believe the acting president, our elected VP, is still off saving the world from some invasive species or something, so she hasn’t been around to discuss the meeting on Monday.

I will say I personally plan to bring up making some dramatic changes around here. According to the bi-laws big changes are to be voted on at meetings. If you don’t show up at the meeting you can try to whine about things later, but fact is your voice is more likely to be heard a meeting then your text on the screen taken seriously. Show up or miss out!

For anyone who is not yet a paid DRC member you are missing out on the action in the Market Place and “The Farm Stand”. (wait a second who removed the information about these to non-paid members?) There are a lot of frags and equipment being sold/traded in these rooms. Houndsbay John listed some sweeeet frags, picking up a couple myself. The only way to view these is if you show up to the meeting with a little bit of cash. What is it like $10? Most people spend 4X that every time they step foot in an LFS.

I’m sure we’ll talk a good bit about the season ahead of us, plans for speakers, raffles, trips, food, Christmas party, and all the fun stuff. If anyone wants to discuss issues they’ve been having, new products they’ve seen and are curious about it or anything reef related feel free to speak up at the meeting. Perhaps if we list some topics here first people can do a little more research and have a more informed conversation at the meeting.

I’m coming - can’t wait to catch up and see how everyone’s summer turned out.

I have plently of Kenya Tree / Colt frags if anyone wants some - just ask.

I’ll have unmounted Xenia frags for $10 too if anyone is interested.

The first meeting of the year is always a good one as we get to hear all about the vacations we couldn’t afford to go on ourselves from memebrs that could :-?

Even though I live in Salisbury, MD and have quite a ride to attend, I am looking forward to seeing everyone again. Personally, it was a great summer for me, acquiring my first boat, but It did go by very quickly. It’s now time to get down to some really cool freakin reefin.

i will be there as well. whats our raffle looking like for this meeting are we gonna have one or just do begining of the year logistics. id so i can contribute a frag or 2 to the raffle.

  Well it looks like there more people excited then I thought there was gonna be. 

 If everything goes according to plan there should be frags and tring for food as well.  We have alot of catching up to do and looking forward in seeing everyone again. As far as frags for the raffle, there should a few to pick through.   ;D
