DRC Frag Swap 2012

I will do a water change the morning of and use the water change water so the croals are already acclimated to the chemistry. I don’t want the ill effects of putting 40 frags in to a tank of freshly made saltwater.
same plan

OK I’ll fess up … it was Will from The Reef Hut that gave me the idea.

And I am new to the swaps especially setting up a frag tank for a swap… I’m stoked about setting up a frag tank there. I got a bunch of stuff I need to clear out.

 Can’t wait for the swap!

Me either. But I know I’ll forget something

Yeah, me too. I think i’m ready for a 1st timer. Got my tank all ready… i think. Ken just helped me re-glue the acrylic, i broke some joints when i cut it down. It was one of bills old sumps, I cut it down to hold about 7-8 g of water. I was going to make a light holder from pvc like Johns, but i left the two ends taller so i can sit the light right across. I’ll take a pic tmmrw when i leak check it. Its ugly as hell from messing up the acylic by cutting out baffles and such, but i think it will work perfect… lightweight, only holds about 7 gals, and it has a 25 x 13 footprint to hold lots of frags… although i only have about twenty or so to bring.
I didnt put anything on fragswapper, figure i’ll just try to sell inexpensive stuff there… learn a little, make a few bucks and have fun…

Hey, I saw Johns frogspawn frags today. They were really nice.!

Thanks Ken, and the tank is all leak checked and passed 100%… Thanks for the help sealing it, and thanks again to Bill for the sump. It worked out nice i think. And the acrylic gauges/scratches dont look too bad with water in it
here’s a pic with about 6 gallons or so in it. It has a 36’’ two bulb T5 over it which lights it up nicely.

that looks fine, will work real good.

How early can we get there Saturday morning to setup etc?

8 am

A portion of the stuff for the swap.

 Can’t wait.

Wow ima kid and that looks like a candy store!

I’m glad the swap is Saturday - Lynn keeps telling me she wants her dining room and living rooms back.

The picture is only 1 pile of goodies.

Several months ago Steph and I volunteered to bring a white board. Does the club still have a need for one? Let me know so I can clear one off and bring it.

The plan is to give everyone a full 8’ table, however that may change once we get in and start seting tables up, but I don’t think it will.
I realize it is last minute to say this, but I really hope we go with 8’ space or at least give some vendors the option to use 8’ space. I know you said in PM that, “All vendors are equal, I am not caterig to one”, but if you personally bring an 18" tank and don’t mind a small space while Dr. Mac travels with a 6’ tank and needs room for a register and bagging space…

If you look at a professional event like those the NJRC does or MACNA most vendors know how much space to expect and fill the space. Large canopies, tanks, and signs. Some companies spend thousands on their set ups for these events.

While we didn’t spend thousands on this event we did ordered in an 8’ banner and would really like to use it at the event. I suppose if we end up with a 4’ space we could hang the banner on the wall if we have to.
