Is that the one in Glen Bernie? Have you been to Dr Mac aka Pacific East Aquaculture? Down the street from you.
Yeah its in Glen Burnie. I was over that way anyway and stopped by. And no I’ve never been to Dr. MAC. never heard of it until now. I’ll have to look into it
PAE is one of our sponsor. Very good to our club as well. We do our club trip there annually. The place is a reefer candy store and the price is right. I believe they are only maybe 15-20 from you if you live in Delmar. Check them out and you won’t be disappointed.
Any update on the tank and the center brace?

Any update on the tank and the center brace?[/quote]
Welded up a temporary aluminum brace for now. I may try to find a new tank in the next year or so. This tank had the overflows on the center of the side glass. I guess it’s made so it can be viewed from both sides like an in wall room divider or something. I’d rather them be in the back. So it will do for now
OK so today was the first day I could totally fill up the tank and set up the and protein skimmers. I dont think I did it right nothing id going into the skimmer. MY Sump has 2 skimmers built in. The water drains from the tank into the first chamber of the sump which has the skimmers in it. I asked the guy I bought it from he said just drop a pump into the fist section of the sump and turn it on thats it. That didnt seem right to me and nothing is going into the skimmer. Ill Post a pic here in a second. I cant find a manufacture name to look up directions
That looks great. not obtrusive at all. should hold it just fine. if you have a corrosion problem you might check for some marine stainless or alluminum alloy angle and bar or tube.

Yeah It turned out good. It should hold for a while
What kind of pump is on that skimmer? Did it come with it or is it one that you just throw in?
To be honest the skimmer looks like its in way to deep of water for it to operate properly. I know mine will surge and not pump water into the skimmer if it is in water that deep.

It is just dropped in the sump it’s not hooked to anything he just said drop it in. It didn’t seem right to me.
You mean the pump is running, but not making any bubbles?

I’m not even sure how it can make bubbles it’s just a regular pump RIO I believe
it will need an air intake tube to the pump suction side venturi.
Sounds like you didn’t hook the pump hose to the skimmer itself therefore it will not fill the skimmer with water. You will need to find the hose that connects the skimmer to the pump so it can pump water to it.
Ok I’ll see what I can find he didn’t give me any more hoses. I’ll see what I can make
How hard is it for you to take it out of the sump and take a picture of it?
